Who am I?

Patrick Germain, wapageA former technical writer and then production manager for aeronautical technical documentation, I became interested in markup languages: SGML and its derivative HTML, very early on. I’ve been creating websites since the Internet first existed in France.

I come from the Safran Group, a subsidiary specializing in landing gear and systems, and carbon wheels and brakes, now Safran Landing Systems. When you have Airbus and Boeing as customers, you have to renegotiate your prices every year. Often downwards. How do you stay competitive? Through innovation and by applying lean manufacturing, that is, by optimizing your processes and eliminating all unnecessary tasks. This is what I do at my level.

Successively a technical webmaster then an editorial editor, now a corporate journalist, I learned to interview any worker, technician, engineer, project manager, director, or CEO, on a multitude of technologies and processes, asking the right questions in order to provide the right explanations and answers on the intranet of my company’s 6,500 employees worldwide or to write the content and press releases for the website.

For 10 years now, I have been creating websites for a wide variety of small and medium-sized businesses, applying the rules of lean manufacturing. I continue to learn their businesses and their languages in order to best meet the expectations of their prospects and customers.

At the controls of the first Boeing 787 prototype (ZA001) on the tarmac at Le Bourget.
I asked the Captain to display the wheels and brakes page because it’s the first commercial aircraft in the world equipped with electric brakes, which allows the wear of the discs to be seen from the cockpit.

As a big fan of motorsport, I am often in Monaco for its Grand Prix, the Top Marques show, the major auctions at Artcurial, Astarossa, Bonhams, Sotheby’s, and many other international events.
